Two serial explosions took place on Wednesday near the grave of former General Qasim Sulemani in Iran. The death toll in these blasts has increased to 103 while 170 people are said to be injured. Iran’s state television has termed these explosions as terrorist attacks. It is being said that these blasts took place at a time when Iran’s ally and Hamas’ number two commander Saleh al-Arouri was killed in a Beirut drone attack.

The blasts in Iran took place near the Saheb al-Zaman Mosque in Kerman city, where Soleimani’s tomb is located and a large number of people had gathered on the fourth anniversary of his death. The first explosion took place near the grave of former Iranian Army General Soleimani in Kerman city of Iran. After that there was a second explosion.

Terrorist attack, bomb and remote control

The Deputy Governor of Kerman has termed these blasts as a terrorist attack. Iran’s government news agency Tasnim quoted sources as saying that there were bombs in two bags at the scene, which exploded. It seems that these bombs were detonated with the help of remote control.

Stampede after the blasts

After these explosions there was a stampede on the spot. At present a large number of ambulances are at the spot. It is being said that many people were injured due to the stampede. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

It is being said in many reports that several gas containers have exploded on the road leading to the cemetery. But the local official has not given any confirmation yet. It is not yet clear whether the explosion was caused by the gas cylinder or something else. This incident is also being considered as a terrorist attack.
