Due to the warning of heavy rain in Chennai, schools have been declared closed. Whereas, there will be a holiday today from Uttarakhand to Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert in Chennai on Tuesday. In view of this warning, a holiday has been declared in all schools in Chennai. The IMD said that Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Cuddalore districts may receive 6 to 12 cm of rain in the next 24 hours.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 12 districts on November 12, 17 districts on the 13th, 27 districts on the 14th and 25 districts on the 15th. According to this alert, life is likely to be affected due to rain in Chennai and surrounding areas. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the low pressure area formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal, clouds are being pulled towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. Its effect may increase in the next two days, which may cause rain in these districts.

Holiday in Uttarakhand too
Talking about the hilly state of Uttarakhand, Igas festival is celebrated here 11 days after Diwali. In view of which, all government schools and offices will remain closed today on 12 November. Also, RBI has announced a holiday in the banks of Uttarakhand.
Due to the elections in Raipur’s South Assembly constituency, a public holiday has been declared on November 13. All private and government schools as well as banks will remain closed on this day. In view of the elections, the schools in which polling centers have been set up are also closed on November 12.
