Maratha Reservation In Maharashtra: Internet service has been suspended in Jalna, Maharashtra in view of the tension regarding Maratha reservation. Curfew has been imposed in Ambad.

Maratha Reservation: Manoj Jarange Patil, who is demanding Maratha reservation, has canceled the plan to protest in Mumbai. He returned to his village midway. He said on Monday (February 26) that for the time being we will respect the law. Marathas should also maintain peace in the state and not take law into their own hands. Big things-

1. Manoj Jarange asked all the workers to go home. Manoj Jarange is on hunger strike in Antarwali Sarti village. He said that he will go to the village and get treatment and there he will decide the next direction of the movement.

2. Earlier on Monday morning, Maratha protesters set a state transport bus on fire at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Ambad taluka. Its video is going viral.

3. Following this, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has filed a police complaint and bus services in Jalna have been suspended till further notice.

4. Keeping in mind the law and order situation, curfew has been imposed in Ambad taluka of Jalna district till further orders. Jalna administration said that due to heavy crowd, traffic on Dhule-Mumbai highway and other surrounding areas is likely to be affected.

5. Internet services have been stopped in Sambhajinagar, Jalna and Beed districts. The Home Department has taken this decision after law and order problems arose. Internet services will remain closed for 10 hours.

6. Meanwhile, the proceedings of Maharashtra Assembly started. Where opposition parties demonstrated regarding Maratha reservation.

7. Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange has said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde should not listen to Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. He said that it should be explained why the notification is not being implemented on the ‘close relatives’ of Kunbi Marathas.

8. Jarange made this comment late on Sunday night when Chief Minister Shinde said that the workers should not test the patience of his government. Jarange alleged in Antarwali Sarti village of Jalna district on Sunday that Fadnavis was trying to “kill” him. He claimed that an attempt was made to poison him through ‘saline’.

9. When asked about Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s statement, Jarange told ABP Majha, “I have not heard him, but he should tell why the notification of reservation for relatives (of Marathas) was not implemented. I respected him a lot. “They should not listen to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and should not speak his (Fadnavis’) language.”

10. The Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday (February 20) unanimously passed a bill providing 10 percent reservation for Marathas in education and government jobs under a separate category. Whereas Jarange is adamant on his demand of reservation for Maratha under Other Backward Class (OBC).
