A case has been registered against Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange at two different places. Let us tell you that on Monday, Manoj has withdrawn his 17-day hunger strike and he is going to visit Mumbai with his demands. Earlier, a case has been registered against 80 people including Manoj Jarange for protesting without permission and blocking roads at two places in Beed district of Maharashtra.
In Mumbai, Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange has been accused by the police in two cases. In fact, two cases have been registered against Manoj Jarange for protesting and blocking roads at two different places by his supporters without permission in Beed district of Maharashtra. Whereas, Manoj Jarange was not present at both the places. Despite this, a case was registered against him. Officials say that on Manoj’s appeal, his supporters took to the streets to demonstrate.
According to the information received from the agency, a case has been registered against about 80 people accusing them of illegal assembly, disobeying a lawful order by a public servant and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. On Saturday, there was a protest in Jatanadur Phata in Shirur village of Beed district and Beed-Ahmednagar road in Patoda was blocked. This was done by the protesters who raised slogans against the state government. According to the agency, the police officer says that Jarange’s supporters had demonstrated without necessary permission from the authorities and in violation of the prohibitory order issued by the Beed District Collector.
Road jam took place on the appeal of Manoj Jarange
The police officer says that all these protests, sloganeering and road jams were done only because of the appeal made by Jarange. This is the reason why Manoj Jarange’s name has also been linked with other accused. Jarange Kunbi is demanding issuance of notification by Maharashtra Government regarding issuance of certificates to Marathas. Kunbi is a farming community which comes under OBC category.
Jarange withdrew his hunger strike
Jarange Kunbi has been demanding issuance of Kunbi certificates to blood relatives of Marathas and reservation for Maratha community under OBC. Jarange had announced on Sunday that he would travel to Mumbai to press his demands. As he has accused Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis of stopping him from implementing the draft notification. Also, Jarange withdrew his hunger strike on Monday after 17 days.
