Like Thane, Kalyan city is going to get Grand Central Park. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is going to inaugurate this park on Monday. This public park spread over 25 acres in Yogi Dham will open for the public from Monday. Smart Kalyan-Dombivli Development Corporation Limited (SKDCL) has constructed the Central Park under the Smart City Mission. There are more than 1,200 species of trees in the park. It has been designed in such a way that the visitors will get all the facilities. This park is bigger than Namo Central Park in Thane.
Cafeteria and parking facility in the park
Initially this park was to be built in an area of 38 acres at a cost of Rs 110 crore. Due to technical reasons, SKDCL did not get the entire land, as a result of which it was built over an area of 25 acres with a cost of Rs 69.66 crore. Created by building a retention wall over an area of 600 meters on the banks of river Valdhuni, the park has various attractions like artificial lake with promenade, jogging track, cycle track, amphitheater and children’s play area, parking and cafeteria.
These projects will also be inaugurated. On Monday, the Chief Minister will inaugurate various projects like houses for the persons affected by road widening under BSUP scheme, newly constructed fire brigade office in Aadharwadi and a multi-storey parking near Kalyan railway station under Smart City Mission. It is expected that these projects will provide relief from traffic problems in Kalyan. A newly constructed 190 bedded multi-specialty hospital is also going to be inaugurated in Ulhasnagar.
Patients will get free treatment in this hospital. This hospital will be run on public-private partnership. Former Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, who made efforts for the hospital, said that this hospital will be cashless.
