The state government has taken an ambitious decision to develop the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) as an international level economic development center, i.e. a “growth hub”, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced.

Under this, international standard business centers will be set up at seven major locations in and around Mumbai, which will give a big boost to the economic progress of the city.

Trade centers to be set up in seven locations

Seven trade hubs are to be set up in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region – Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Kurla-Worli, Wadala, Goregaon, Navi Mumbai, Kharghar and Virar-Boisar. These hubs will provide a comprehensive platform for international companies, startups and industries and will provide a major boost to economic activities.

Mumbai’s economy will gain momentum

This project aims to grow the economy of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region from the current $140 billion to $300 billion by 2030 and a whopping $1.5 trillion by 2047. These business hubs will not only help local industries but also attract international investors.
