Meanwhile, the Amicus Curiae appointed by the Kerala High Court has recommended that any film be reviewed after 48 hours of its release.
Movie will not be reviewed for 48 hours
In the report presented by Shmay Padman, amicus curiae appointed by the Kerala High Court, a strict stance has been taken against those who give negative reviews of films on social media. The court says that
there are some people who share their reviews on social media as soon as the film is released. In such a situation, the earnings of the film are also affected and the hard work of the director and the entire team also goes waste. A section does this out of greed for money and rewards and those who do not get all this then start giving negative reviews against that film. Because of this, cases of review bombing increase significantly. In such a situation, to prevent this, the film will not be reviewed for 48 hours after its release.
Film critics and bloggers will have to follow
Not only this, a suggestion has also been presented to set up a portal regarding these matters. According to the guidelines submitted by the amicus curiae to the court, all film critics and bloggers have been asked to follow it.
This director had expressed objection
The first objection regarding the review bombing issue was expressed by the famous director of Malayalam film industry, Ubaini E. Last year, on October 25, 2023, the director of the film Rachel Maken Kora had lodged a complaint at the Kochi City Police Station and said that negativity was spread against his film on social media and a deliberate attempt was made to humiliate him.
