This scheme is of the central government, which provides free treatment to the poor and needy people. Now Delhi has also become the 35th state and union territory to implement this scheme.
Under this scheme, about 6.5 lakh families i.e. about 36 lakh people will get benefit. Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that this scheme will be run in Delhi through a trust model. At the same time, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the state government will add another Rs 5 lakh in addition to the treatment cover of Rs 5 lakh provided by the Center, so that people will get free treatment up to a total of Rs 10 lakh.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that under this scheme, the state government will also provide an additional top-up of Rs 5 lakh in addition to the insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh provided by the Central Government. Due to this, the citizens of Delhi will also get free treatment up to a total of Rs 10 lakh.
