Delhi Metro Lost and Found: Delhi Metro works like a lifeline in the country’s capital Delhi. Every day lakhs of people travel by it. According to a recent report, in 2024, passengers in Delhi Metro have stolen more than Rs 40 lakh in cash, 89 laptops, 193 mobile phones and 9 mangalsutras.
However, most of these items have been found and returned to their owners. But if any of your belongings are accidentally left in Delhi Metro, do you know how you can find it? Yes, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made complete arrangements to return the lost items of the passengers. Let’s know everything about this.
What to do if you leave your belongings in the metro?
- If any of your belongings are left at the metro station, go to the customer care center of the nearest station within 48 hours. If it has been more than 48 hours since the luggage is left, then you can contact the Lost and Found Office of the Metro.
- To get back these lost items, you will have to submit a photocopy of the lost items along with an original ID proof.
- If no one comes to collect the lost items in DMRC for a month, then DMRC can send it for further auction. Rapid Metro keeps these items for a year.
Where can I find lost items in Delhi Metro?
If you have lost any of your belongings in the Delhi Metro or at the station, then it can be found from the customer care department at the station for 48 hours. After this, it is deposited in the Lost and Found department of DMRC. The Lost and Found department of DMRC is at Kashmiri Gate Metro station. You can go there from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm and inquire about your belongings.
If you have lost your luggage in the Rapid Metro, then you will have to go to the Rapid Metro Operation Control Center. It is located on Moulsari Avenue Road, DLF Phase 3. You can go here from Monday to Saturday from 8.30 am to 5 pm.
