According to the bank holiday list, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in September. This includes national and regional holidays as well as Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays.

    When will the banks remain closed

    • 1st September is Sunday. All banks will remain closed on this day.
    • Banks in Guwahati will remain closed on September 4 on the occasion of Tirubhava Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva.
    • On September 7, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji will remain closed
    • All banks in the country will remain closed on 8th September due to Sunday.
    • All banks will be closed on September 14 as it is second Saturday.
    • 15th September is Sunday. There will be a bank holiday across the country on this day.
    • Baravafat is on 16 September. On this day there is a bank holiday in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Aizawl, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kochi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.
    • Banks in Gangtok and Raipur will remain closed on September 17 on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi.
    • Banks in Gangtok will remain closed on September 18 due to Pang-Lhabsol.
    • There will be no work in the banks of Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi on September 20.
    • All banks across the country will remain closed on September 22. This day is Sunday.
    • Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on September 21 on account of Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
    • Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on 23 September on the occasion of Maharaja Harisingh Ji’s birthday.
    • 28th September is the fourth Saturday of September. All banks will remain closed on this day.
    • All banks will remain closed on 29th September due to Sunday.

    How are bank holidays decided
    Bank holidays are not the same in all states. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the bank holiday list of all states is different. The list of bank holidays of all states is released on the RBI website. It also contains details of festivals of the states.
