NPCI is preparing to upgrade its UPI service, including new features like face unlock and a new plan, Delegated Payment System. The government also wants everyone to be able to use UPI, including those who do not have a bank account.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is preparing to upgrade its UPI (Unified Payments Interface) service, which includes new features like face unlock and a new plan, Delegated Payment System. The purpose of this new planning is to make UPI accessible to more people, especially those who do not have bank accounts. The government also wants everyone to be able to use UPI, including those who do not have a bank account.
It is necessary to have a bank account now
Currently, to use UPI, you must have a bank account, which should be linked to your mobile number and Aadhaar card. You can create a UPI account with the help of many apps and make digital payments. But NPCI is expanding this service further so that those who do not have a bank account can also use UPI.
What is Delegated Payment System?
With the help of the new delegated payment system, family members will be able to use the same UPI account, even if they do not have their own bank accounts. For example, if one member of the family has a bank account and UPI service is enabled in it, then the rest of the members will also be able to make payments from the same UPI account from their phones. This will be only for savings accounts, not for credit card or other loan accounts. The person in whose name the main account will be, will have full control and will be able to allow others to make payments.
How will it work?
When this new facility is launched, NPCI will inform all UPI users that they can set their savings account for use by others. Users can enable this facility if they wish, after which their identity will probably be confirmed. Once this system is activated, many people will be able to make payments from the same UPI account.
NPCI has not yet given the transaction limit or other specific information, but it is expected that this new facility will greatly increase the use of UPI. It is possible that payments made through UPI may increase by 25 to 30 percent.
