BJP leaders have been accusing the Uddhav Thackeray-led government of large-scale corruption. On Friday, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had also said that there has been a liquor scam in Maharashtra and in January 2022, the Thackeray government had also done a liquor scam. .
After the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, now BJP leaders of Maharashtra are claiming that former CM Uddhav Thackeray can also go to jail. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar, in a post on X, said, “An outgoing Chief Minister can go to jail because of corruption, a former Chief Minister who had fixed the percentage (commission) can also go to jail.”
On Friday, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had also made a similar allegation and said that there has been a liquor scam in Maharashtra and in January 2022, the Thackeray government had also done a liquor scam. He said, ‘The then CM Uddhav Thackeray changed the excise wine policy in January 2022. The Sanjay Raut family had partnered with Ashok Garg Magpie DFS Private Limited in Maharashtra. We had exposed this wine/liquor scam of Maharashtra..’
Action will be taken against Uddhav!
These statements are raising questions whether Uddhav Thackeray may also have to face ED action? BJP leaders have been accusing the Uddhav Thackeray-led government of large-scale corruption. Under the leadership of Uddhav, many leaders accused of corruption have joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. A few days ago, MLA Ravindra Vaikar had also left Uddhav and joined Shinde’s party.
Anyway, the investigating agencies are chasing many such leaders who are in Thackeray’s party. Many leaders of Sena UBT including Anil Parab, Vaibhav Naik, Rajan Salvi, Sanjay Raut, Kishori Pednekar have been investigated. ED, Income Tax investigation is going on against these leaders.
There was corruption in Mumbai Municipal Corporation also – BJP
Shiv Sena was in power in Mumbai Municipal Corporation for a long time and BJP has been alleging that there was large scale corruption during this period. Especially during the Covid period, there were also allegations of taking money as per percentage. Eknath Shinde has also alleged that Uddhav Thackeray implemented the agenda of conspiracy, corruption and commission in the state.
Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad, defending Uddhav Thackeray, said, ‘BJP leaders are deciding who will be arrested. Where is our country headed? The people of India can see this and they will give mandate accordingly.
Leaders like Hasan Mushrif, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ajit Pawar, who were facing allegations, have formed an alliance with BJP and are now sleeping peacefully. BJP is using agencies. This is a dangerous sign for democracy.”
Uddhav may get entangled in liquor policy issue
Maha Vikas Aghadi is giving competition to NDA in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. It is being said in political circles that an attempt can be made to put pressure on Uddhav Thackeray’s party leaders through arrests.
The question also arose whether Uddhav’s connection would be established by the agency in any of these cases. The Maharashtra Wine Policy was issued by the Maharashtra State Government in January 2022 in which the sale of wine was allowed in departmental and walk-in stores having an area of more than 1000 square feet.
