Samsung Electronics: The strike going on in Samsung’s South India plant is going to be almost a month. Despite all the efforts and strictness, the employees of the Chennai plant are not ready to end the strike. Now the Tamil Nadu government has also entered this matter. The Chief Minister of the state MK Stalin has entrusted the responsibility of ending this strike to his 3 ministers. Meanwhile, information is coming out that Samsung has agreed to accept all the demands of the employees. But, the company alleges that the employee union CITU is creating obstacles in this agreement.
Samsung officials met Tamil Nadu Industry Minister
According to a Business Standard report, senior officials of Korean electronics company Samsung met Tamil Nadu’s Industry Minister TRB Raja on Sunday. During this, they demanded that the ongoing strike at their plant be ended as soon as possible. Around 1,750 employees work at this Samsung plant. About 1,100 of these people have been on strike since September 9. Their demand is that the salary should be increased. The working hours should be improved and their union, the Centre of Indian Trade Unions, should be recognized.
Management and employees will soon reach an agreement
Apart from TRB Raja, Chief Minister MK Stalin has entrusted the responsibility of ending the Samsung strike to MSME Minister TM Anbarasan and Labor Minister CV Ganesan. TRB Raja said that we have discussed with the Samsung management. A solution will be found on this issue as soon as possible. We are hopeful that the Samsung management and the striking employees will reach an agreement soon. This will benefit everyone.
Samsung faces a big setback during the festive season due to the strike
In this case, about 900 striking employees who were taking out a rally were recently detained. Apart from this, Samsung has also knocked the door of the court to stop this strike of the company. Also, these employees were also given a notice of termination from the job. Recently, information came to light that the company had sent chocolates to these employees. It also said that it will take decisions only in the interest of the employees. Due to this strike, Samsung has suffered a big setback during the festive season.
