Salman Khan Film Sikandar: Shreya Gupta has played the role of a doctor in Salman Khan’s film ‘Sikandar’. She said that the film has suffered due to negative campaigns and fake videos. Along with this, Shreya also defended the film’s poor box office performance.
Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s film ‘Sikander’ has received mixed reactions from the audience. Critics have also given this movie bad reviews. Amidst the poor performance of ‘Sikander’ at the box office, actress Shreya Gupta has defended the film. Also told that the trolls have influenced the audience in the wrong way. In her first film ‘Sikander’, Shreya has played the role of a doctor.
Recently, Shreya told DNA India how the film has been directly harmed. She told that she has seen ‘Sikander’ twice at Getty Galaxy in Mumbai. Shreya said, ‘I saw the film at Getty and I found the response crazy. To be honest, it was a big deal for me to be a part of such a Bollywood film. I feel blessed to have the experience of working with such big names. Standing next to Salman Khan was a very surreal experience.’
Defended the film ‘Sikander’
Shreya defended the mixed and negative response received by ‘Sikander’ and said, ‘On Instagram I have seen people coming out of the theatre calling the film rubbish, but that was for Salman’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. So such fake reels affect the common people and they can change their mind about the film.’ Shreya further said, ‘Anyway people are very lazy to come to the theatre due to expensive tickets and high prices of popcorn and in a month and a half the film will come on OTT, so it is better to skip it. So all these reasons affect the film.’
Apart from this, Shreya also targeted the trollers who are making fun of the low earnings of ‘Sikander’ at the box office. She says, ‘Those who do not have much work are just spreading hatred. People who do not even follow my work or social media come and write that hey congratulations, but the film was so-so. Neither do you follow me nor do you watch my content. What is it with you? Why are you wasting 1 minute of your life to make a negative comment on someone’s profile? I think unemployment is visible.’
Salman Khan’s fans are loyal
Shreya also defended the low box office collection of ‘Sikander’ and said, ‘Bhai’s fans are loyal. They have supported the film. As for the right and wrong, how many people watched The Missing Lady? I have watched Superboys of Malegaon in an empty cinema hall. I watched Soham Shah’s Crazy with only 2 other people in the hall. Despite this, it is said that the current time is very different and OTT has reduced the craze of theaters.’
