President Draupadi Murmu Ram Mandir Invitation: Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray has demanded that the consecration of Ram Temple should be done by President Draupadi Murmu.

Uddhav Thackeray on Ram Mandir: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday demanded that the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya should be done by President Draupadi Murmu as it is “a matter of pride of the nation and of the country.” It is a matter of self-respect. Thackeray said at a press conference here that he would also invite Murmu to the Kalaram temple in Nashik. Thackeray will visit Kalaram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony.

What did Uddhav Thackeray say?

Thackeray had earlier announced that he would visit the iconic Kalaram temple in Nashik on January 22 along with his party leaders and office-bearers and perform ‘Maha Aarti’ on the banks of the Godavari river. A day after this, on January 23, a conference of office bearers will also be organized in Nashik where Thackeray will also address a rally. Thackeray said that after the renovation of Somnath temple in Gujarat, the formal revival ceremony was done by the country’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

He said, “This (Ayodhya Ram Temple ) is a matter of national pride and self-respect of the country, so the consecration ceremony should be done by President Murmu.” A delegation of Ram Mandir Trust met President Draupadi on Friday. Met Murmu and gave him a formal invitation to attend the Pran Pratistha ceremony to be held in Ayodhya. This delegation included Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president Alok Kumar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ramlal and Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti chairman Nripendra Mishra. Thackeray said that Shiv Sainiks who were part of ‘Kar Seva’ in 1992 will also be honored in Nashik.
