OYO New Guidelines: OYO has made a big change in its rules and under this, it has decided to ban the entry of unmarried couples in the hotels associated with the platform. This is being started from Meerut.

With the help of OYO, it has become easy to find and stay in a cheap hotel in any city of India. But the company has made a big change in its rules in the new year 2025 and has decided to ban the entry of unmarried couples. Till now couples used to get rooms easily in OYO, but the company has now banned it. This latest change is being implemented from Meerut City of Uttar Pradesh.

The new rule will start from Meerut

Making a big announcement, OYO has now decided to ban the entry of those couples in the hotels associated with it who are unmarried. Meaning, if a couple wants to book a room in OYO hotel, then they will have to present proof of their marriage or proof of relationship. The new rule banning the check-in of unmarried couples brought by travel and hospitality platform Oyo will come into effect this year and it is starting from Meerut and Oyo-connected hotels in the city have been instructed to implement this rule immediately.

Couples will have to provide proof of relationship

OYO’s updated guidelines clearly state that all couples, including those booking online, will now have to submit valid proof of their relationship at the time of check-in. Along with this, the report also quoted sources as saying that after the company implements this rule in Meerut, it can be expanded to other cities based on its feedback and effectiveness.

Is this the reason why the company took this step?

According to reports, the company was contacted by some local people and civil society groups, especially in Meerut and some other cities, and they appealed not to give rooms in the hotel to unmarried couples. Regarding this, the company has made this big change in its guidelines. This step of the company can also be helpful in encouraging customers to stay for a long time and rebook and increasing their trust.

Business not only in India but in more than 30 countries of the world

According to the information received from Oyo’s website, the company’s business is spread not only in India but also abroad. It provides hotels and home stay services in more than 30 countries and has more than 1.50 lakh hotels in its network.
