Swaraj started airing on Doordarshan’s national channel in 2022. It has a total of 52 episodes. The show depicts the story of the unsung heroes of the freedom struggle. Besides, glimpses of India’s rich history are also present in the show. Its first season was launched by Union Minister Anurag Thakur in Mumbai. The show is available in Hindi along with English and seven regional languages.
Doordarshan’s show Swaraj (Swaraj on Prime Video), based on the unsung heroes of the freedom struggle, can now be seen on the OTT platform. On Wednesday, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced this at an event in Mumbai and launched the show on Amazon Prime Video.
In the program, the Union Minister said that this show was conceived under the national campaign Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The show was launched in August in 2022. The show shows stories of such fighters about whom people do not know much. These battles were lost somewhere in the pages of history.
Swaraj reflects 500 years long struggle
Swaraj serial has 75 episodes. Anurag Thakur further said that in the past, the history of the country was written by the invaders and then the rulers on the basis of their political and economic priorities. In this serial, the events have been shown in detail, so that the true meaning of Swaraj can be understood. Through this show, national and international audiences will be able to understand the soul of the country and our 500 year long struggle for freedom.
The Union Minister said that to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a 52-episode serial Sardar – The Gamechanger has been started on Doordarshan on March 10.
Show released on OTT in nine languages
