Mumbai Rains: Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, Maharashtra since last night, many areas of the city have been waterlogged. People are facing a lot of problems due to the continuous rain. On Sunday, there was a long traffic jam between Khadavali and Titwala in the Kalyan-Kasara section and local train services were also disrupted.

Train services disrupted, traffic jams on roads

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that more than 300 mm of rain was recorded at various places in Mumbai in a total of six hours from 1 am to 7 am today. Heavy rains caused waterlogging in some low-lying areas and disrupted train services. Traffic has been disrupted due to waterlogging on the roads.

Central Railway said that heavy rains have caused waterlogging, causing delays in rail traffic on Mumbai suburban and harbour lines. The affected stations include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Kurla-Vikhroli and Bhandup.

Holiday declared in schools and colleges

To avoid inconvenience to students, holiday has been declared for the first session in all BMC, government and private schools and colleges in Mumbai. The decision for the next session will be announced after reviewing the situation.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate to heavy rain will continue in Mumbai throughout the day on July 8 (Monday). Thunderstorms are expected at night.
