According to the news agency, an official said that the incident took place on Monday afternoon when a group of five boys went to take a bath in the sea between Mahim and Shivaji Park beach after playing Holi.
The officer said that some of them went into deep water where they started drowning, seeing which their friends ran to help, but none of them knew how to swim so they also started struggling to get out. He said that rescue workers deployed at Chowpatty near Hinduja Hospital in Mahim pulled four boys out of the sea, while one boy is missing.
He said, ‘The rescued people were taken to Hinduja Hospital where Harsh Kinjle (19) was declared dead during treatment. The other two are safe, while the condition of their friend is stable. The official said that the search and rescue operation was stopped due to darkness late in the evening.
