The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain with stormy winds in many parts of Maharashtra for the next three days. According to the IMD, there is also a possibility of hailstorm in some areas of the state. Many places including Mumbai are facing severe heat. According to the Meteorological Department, rain with thunderstorms is likely to continue at different places in Vidarbha, Marathwada.
IMD alert in these cities of Maharashtra
An orange alert for rain has been issued for some districts of Vidarbha and a yellow alert for rain has been issued for many districts of central Maharashtra including Marathwada. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and hailstorm in Chandrapur, Gondia, Gadchiroli. At the same time, a yellow alert for rain has been issued in Hingoli, Nanded districts. Apart from this, storm warning has been issued in Jalgaon, Nagar, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Parbhani, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Washim, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Bhandara.
Mumbaikars will have to bear the heat
Due to hot winds coming from Rajasthan and Gujarat, many parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai are experiencing severe heat. As these hot winds are coming from the Arabian Sea towards Maharashtra, these winds are bringing a lot of moisture with them, due to which the people of Mumbai and coastal cities are facing humid heat. The maximum temperature in Santacruz was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius yesterday. Due to low air pressure in the Arabian and Indian Oceans, the temperature of the water surface increases, due to which Mumbai and Konkan have seen an increase in temperature.
