A large number of students in ashram schools have fallen ill due to food poisoning in Dahanu taluka of Palghar district of Maharashtra. Deputy Collector Subhash Bhagade gave information about this. He said that at least 50 students from about 10 ashram schools of the taluka fell ill due to food poisoning on Tuesday morning. They were admitted to various hospitals. Let us tell you that ashram schools are residential schools built for tribal students.

Palghar resident Deputy Collector Subhash Bhagade said the cause of the food poisoning was being investigated. Officials said the affected schools were located in Dahanu, Palghar, Talasari and Vasai talukas of the district. According to officials, students of an ashram school in Rankol in Dahanu complained of vomiting, nausea, stomach pain and fever a few hours after eating dinner on Monday night.

At around 3 am on Tuesday, around 28 girl students fell ill and were taken to the nearest health center, where they are undergoing treatment. However, the condition of the students undergoing treatment is stable.
