The Waqf Board has issued notices to more than 100 farmers for 300 acres of land in Latur district. Shocking news has come out in Latur, Maharashtra. The Waqf Board has sent notices to more than 100 farmers in Latur district on Saturday, 7 December. The board has demanded to take their land, on which they have been farming for generations. He said, ‘A claim has been filed in the Maharashtra State Waqf Tribunal in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and notices have been issued to 103 farmers with a total land of 300 acres.’ At the same time, after the notice, there has been a political earthquake in Maharashtra. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has promised that no injustice will be allowed to happen to anyone. Congress attacked the government and said that there is no government of farmers in Maharashtra.

A farmer named Tukaram Kanvate said, ‘We have inherited these lands for generations. These are not Waqf properties. We want the Maharashtra government to give us justice. Two hearings have been held in the court on this matter and the next hearing is on December 20. ‘At the same time, citing preliminary information from the Latur District Waqf Office, he said that there were some issues among the villagers. One of them approached the Waqf Tribunal, after which the judicial body issued notices to the villagers.

What did the board say
The Waqf Office said, ‘The Waqf Board is an autonomous body, while the Waqf Tribunal is a judicial body. The Waqf Board has no direct role in issuing these notices. Kazi told TOI that facts are being misrepresented. We suspect that this is being done deliberately to create unnecessary panic among the farmers. He said that if the matter is brought before the board, it will review it thoroughly through legal channels. Kazi said, ‘We want the statements issued against the Waqf Board to be withdrawn. Otherwise, we will initiate appropriate legal action.’
