The Maharashtra elections are being seen as a litmus test in terms of the real-fake fight between two Shiv Senas and two NCPs. There are 87 assembly seats in these elections where there is a direct fight between Shiv Sena vs Shiv Sena and NCP vs NCP.

In the Maharashtra assembly elections, both the alliances, Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA), have Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). These elections are also considered important in terms of the fight between the real and fake Shiv Sena and NCP. In the fight between the two alliances, all eyes are on the performance of both Shiv Sena and NCP. These first assembly elections after the split of both the parties are also considered important for Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

Fight between real and fake Shivsena and NCP

Uddhav Thackeray calls his Shiv Sena (UBT) as the real Shiv Sena while Eknath Shinde calls his Shiv Sena. The story of NCP is also similar. After defeating Sharad Pawar in the battle for the name and symbol of NCP, Ajit Pawar calls his party as the real NCP. These elections are also being considered as a public opinion test as to whose party the public considers to be the real one. The public considers Shinde’s party to be the real Shiv Sena or Uddhav Thackeray’s party, Ajit’s party to be the real one or Sharad Pawar’s party.

In this fight between real and fake, everyone’s eyes are also on those seats where the contest is between two factions of these parties. Both factions of Shiv Sena are face to face on 49 seats, while on 38 seats the contest is NCP vs NCP. Out of the 49 seats where Shiv Sena is fighting, 12 are from Mumbai Metropolitan. Shiv Sena has always been considered dominant on the seats of Mumbai.

Talking about NCP, most of the seats on which the parties led by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar are facing each other are from West Maharashtra. West Maharashtra is considered the stronghold of NCP.

How were the results of the Lok Sabha elections

This was the first electoral test of these four parties that emerged from two parties. Ajit Pawar’s party had fielded candidates on four seats and could win only one seat. On the other hand, Sharad Pawar-led NCP had won on eight seats. Sharad Pawar’s party had fielded candidates on 10 seats.

Talking about Shiv Sena, the candidates of both the parties were face to face on 13 seats. A close contest was seen between the two parties on these 13 seats. Then Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) had won on six seats and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena had won on seven seats.
