The increased dearness allowance will come into effect from July 1, 2024. This means that people will get 3 months’ arrears. Railway employees have received the gift of bonus
Let us tell you that a cabinet meeting is being held today. In this, the proposal to increase dearness allowance by 3% for employees and pensioners will be approved. A meeting of the Modi cabinet was also held on 3 October. In this, it was decided to give 78 days bonus to railway employees. This decision was also announced as soon as Prime Minister Modi approved it. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had informed the media that railway employees will get 78 days bonus. For this, a budget of Rs 2029 crore has been approved in the cabinet meeting.
Dearness allowance was also increased in March
According to media reports, before this the Modi government had increased the dearness allowance in the month of March. Although the government changes the DA in the month of January-July, but this year on 24 March 2024, the dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent by taking a decision in the cabinet meeting. Then the dearness allowance had increased from 46 to 50 percent. Today the dearness allowance has increased by 3 percent and as soon as the increase was officially announced, the dearness allowance has increased from 50 percent to 53 percent.
What is DA and when was it increased?
DA is called dearness allowance in Hindi and dearness allowance in English. It is given to government and non-government employees. Dearness allowance is increased in view of rising inflation. Salary is received only after adding dearness allowance, rent allowance and other allowances to the basic salary. Dearness allowance has been increased 5 times in the last 3 years and today when the allowance has been increased, this is the sixth time when dearness allowance has been increased.
