The Surgical Strike, Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur and now ‘Chhava’. Vicky Kaushal is constantly trying to bring variants in his acting. He is trying to make a place in the hearts of the audience with different avatars. His hard work is clearly visible in ‘Chhava’. He has worked very hard to bring life to the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and no one can question his hard work, despite this, ‘Chhava’ does not show the strength that should be seen in the true sense. This film did not live up to my expectations. So let us tell you about the film in detail.
Story:
The story of the film begins after the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. After the death of Shivaji Maharaj, Mughal emperor Aurangzeb feels that now he can rule the Marathas comfortably, but he was unaware that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is capable of protecting Swaraj alone by following the path of his father. Sambhaji Maharaj attacks a part of the Mughals and wins. On hearing this news, Aurangzeb becomes furious and he sets out with his entire army to end the supremacy of Sambhaji Maharaj. Does Aurangzeb succeed in his plan? What are the results of the war between Sambhaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb? To know the answers to all these questions, you will have to go to the cinema and watch the entire film.
Cast and Acting:
The film has many actors. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika Mandana in the role of Maharani Yesubai, Akshay Khanna in the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana in the role of Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta in the role of Soyrabai, Vineet Kumar Singh in the role of Kavi Kalash, Diana Penty in the role of Aurangzeb’s daughter Zeenat-un-Nisa Begum, Santosh Juvekar in the role of Raiji Malge and Neil Bhupalam in the role of Muhammad Akbar. By the way, everyone has done justice to their characters in the film. You are going to like everyone’s acting in the film.
Direction:
The film is directed by Laxman Utekar. At some places you will like his direction a lot, but at some places you may be disappointed. The way he has presented Vicky as Sambhaji Maharaj has many shortcomings. At many places Vicky’s screaming and his anger seem artificial, while there are some scenes that will give you goosebumps. If a little more attention was paid to small things, then perhaps this film could have been perfect.
Disadvantages:
When we talk about the set of historical action films, then the film looks a little weak here. At the same time, if we talk about screen space, then I feel that the presence of Rashmika Mandanna and Akshay Khanna should have been a little more on the screen. The burden of the entire film was left on Vicky Kaushal. Vicky is seen in every next scene. It seems that Rashmika has been taken in the film only for the name. If Akshay was also given more scenes, then perhaps his negative character would have become stronger. The last shortcoming that I saw is the pace of the film, from the first half to the second half, the film is very slow. If the duration of the film was reduced a bit and its pace was increased, then perhaps it would have been fun to watch the film.
Music:
There is no doubt that AR Rahman has brought life to the film with his music. His music will increase the rating of this film. There is no lack in background music. The music is such that it will create enthusiasm in you.
Watch or not:
According to me, you should watch this film, because it is a family film and you can also show it to your children. We all should know what happened in history. There is a lot of difference between reading history in a book and watching that history on screen and there is no doubt that Vicky Kaushal has given his best in this film as well. 2.5 stars to the film from my side.
