The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced that Aadhar Card will no longer be valid for verifying the date of birth. EPFO has excluded Aadhar Card from the list of documents to verify date of birth following the instructions of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). After this step, crores of EPFO subscribers will no longer be able to use Aadhar Card to update or correct the date of birth.
Aadhar card is valid only for identification and residence of the person – UIDAI
UIDAI had recently said in a circular, Aadhar card is a 12-digit unique ID. It has been issued by the Government of India. It is valid as proof of identity and permanent residence of a person in the country. It can be used to verify the identity of a person. But, it is not proof of date of birth. Therefore, Aadhar has been excluded from the list of documents to be given as proof of date of birth.
Valid documents required for date of birth verification
■ Birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths.
■ Marksheet issued by a recognized government board or university.
■ School leaving certificate containing name and date of birth.
■ Certificate based on service record of the center or state.
■ PAN card issued by the Income Tax Department.

◼️Medical certificate issued by the civil surgeon.
