17 lakh employees will benefit
According to an official of the State Finance Department, about 17 lakh government employees will get direct benefit from this decision. This will increase their salary and make living easier.
Government made provision in the budget
The expenditure on this increase in dearness allowance will be met under the budgetary provisions of the state government. This amount has already been fixed in the head of salary and allowances for government employees. The government has also clarified that this increase will also be applicable for the employees of Zilla Parishad and grant-in-aid institutions. This amount will be given to them from their financial assistance item. This decision will provide relief to lakhs of government employees of the state, especially in the era of rising inflation.
