According to the Indian Express report, senior scientists say that the current rain conditions are due to the cyclonic circulation system. IMD Director Sunil Kamble said that cyclonic circulation is forming in North Lakshadweep while cyclonic circulation of upper air is forming in Andaman. Due to which rain is occurring with thunder in some areas including Mumbai.

IMD has predicted thunderstorms in some parts of Mumbai including Thane, Raigad, which will continue till Monday. There are also chances of lightning during this period.

IMD is keeping an eye on the changing weather conditions

Kamble said that the cyclone’s flow will intensify soon, which will lead to increased rainfall in Mumbai in the coming days. He also said that the IMD will keep an eye on this activity and further decisions will be taken based on whether the system strengthens or weakens.

Mumbai crossed the average rainfall limit

At present, Yolo alert has been issued in Mumbai. IMD has predicted light to moderate rain for the weekend. This weather condition may continue till Monday. So far, 113.4 mm of rain has been recorded at Colaba Observatory this month, which has crossed the limit of 83 mm for this month. At the same time, 72.5 mm of rain has been recorded at Santacruz station.
