Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voting for 6 Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai will be held in the fifth phase on May 20. The Election Commission is making vigorous preparations to conduct the elections in a peaceful and fair manner.
Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election 2024: Along with the political parties in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the administration is also busy preparing for the Lok Sabha elections. In this sequence, Mumbai Suburban Collector and District Election Officer have issued an important order. Under this order, the duty imposed for election work of doctors, employees and nurses engaged in essential services in government hospitals of Mumbai has been canceled with immediate order.
This order has been given by Mumbai Suburban Collector and District Election Officer Rajendra Kshirsagar. In fact, for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, officers and employees of different departments have been put on duty to conduct the election process smoothly in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Mumbai suburban district.
Questions were being raised on the orders of the Commission.
During the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, for the first time, on the lines of teachers, about 500 doctors and nurses engaged in the medical services of Mumbai Municipal Corporation were put on election duty. For the first time, as soon as the news of imposition of duty on doctors and employees engaged in medical services in elections came, the protest started. People protested against this and started raising questions on the Election Commission. People said that how can doctors and employees engaged in essential services be put on election duty?
Election Commission canceled the order.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the District Election Officer had taken cognizance of this order. In this regard, an immediate order has now been issued by Mumbai Suburban District Collector and District Election Officer Rajendra Kshirsagar. Under this order, the election duty of doctors, employees and nurses engaged in medical services has been canceled with immediate effect.
